Jane VanDeBogart Action Fund
In memory of Jane VanDeBogart, we have established a new fund will help empower our grassroots activists who are fighting the negative effects of religious/secular hospital mergers, as Jane did so passionately. Help us grow this fund by making a tax-deductible donation today to remember Jane or honor of a passionate social justice activist in your life!
About Jane VanDeBogart
During her lifetime, Jane invested her time, intellect, determination and dollars in struggles for social justice, including reproductive justice. Jane was instrumental in preserving community access to comprehensive reproductive health services when Kingston Hospital merged with nearby Catholic sponsored Benedictine Hospital under orders from a state hospital “rightsizing” commission.

Jane's dedication to preserving reproductive health services in the community led to the opening of the new separately-incorporated Foxhall Ambulatory Surgery Center. Located next to Kingston Hospital, Foxhall is now providing abortions and other reproductive care along with other outpatient services such as podiatry and eye surgery.

Outside the center, a beautiful garden and bench have been dedicated to Jane’s memory. Jane died all too early, at age 67, from a recurrence of breast cancer in 2008. Even in the last months before she died, Jane managed to testify before a state hospital review commission, and participated in merger strategy meetings from her hospital bed.
